NARS Matte Multiple, You Slay Me

So how excited were we when news of NARS launching MATTE Multiples hit? Not even remotely as excited as I was after testing two of them sent from NARS’ PR. And when I tell you how Matte Multiple in Siam is all sorts of win on your cheeks…GURL.

First of all when you take a multitasking product like The Multiple which I already love (my fave is St. Barts) and put it in a matte format—you get all kinds of pigmentation and a finish that lasts (I had mine on for over 12 hours and still had a gorgeous flush) and lasts. You can also control the application of color—sheer it down for a hint of color or layer it for full-on POW!

Cappadoce (which every time I look at it makes me want to say ‘Cappadonna’ #WUTANG) is a gorgeous deep bronze shade that can be used for contouring or bronzing on lighter skin tones or on darker skin like mine it can be used to warm the perimeter of the face. It’s pretty and does a pretty nice job of bronzing—but if you’re close in coloring to me, you don’t *need* it. You do however need Siam which is like the cream version of Exhibit A, sweet cheeks.

As for how to best apply these things—well, my dears, the world is your oyster but my preferred way of getting it on is with the beautyblender baby! I dot the color on as shown in the collage below and then I use the beautyblender to dab it into my skin adding more layers of Siam if I want a bolder cheek. And thanks to that (I’m also testing Maybelline Fit Me in Shade 360 which is the foundation I have on in these pics) a woman in the nail salon yesterday stopped me to yell “You have such GORGEOUS skin! My God, I’ve never seen anything like it!” hehe :)

I was also in Sephora over the weekend picking up last minute items for my trip to Trinidad (I leave this afternoon) and got swatches of the other bolder colored Matte Multiples (obviously I wasn’t going to be up in Sephora with my DSLR snapping pics so these were taken on my iPhone):

Here’s two more pics of Siam on my cheeks (Cappadoce is on the perimeter of my face but this is something that shows up more in person than in pics):

Bottom line: So do you need Siam? YES. Do you need it even if you have Exhibit A? YES (though if you’re a normal person and have self control when it comes to makeup, I suppose you’d be able to make it through. Cappadoce is gorgeous so if you have lighter skin and looking for a nice deeper bronzing shade with a luminous matte finish that isn’t all orangey, Cappadoce is your girl. On dark skin like mine it’s pretty to warm the skin, but you don’t *need* it.

P.S. You can also use some shades on your lips. Double win!

Thanks so much for the review! I picked up Siam at Sephora, but they didn’t have the bronzers. Is it sad that I’m dark, but want Cappadoce anyway? LOL. ‘ll have to check it out at a Nars counter.

LOL—it’s not sad—I know exactly how you feel…lol. It’s pretty for warming the skin—you don’t need it, but you also want die if you get it…lol.

My complexion is like Lupita N’yongo. Can you use the Capaddoce as a highlighter?
