Here, at the heart of the city, you can experience Brussels at its most stunning, marvel at intricately detailed façades and admire historic structures. The Grand Place, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is always teeming with life: events, demonstrations, markets and concerts draw in locals and tourists alike. If you like it alternative, don't miss the Les Marolles district. This area offers a lively cornucopia of street art, relaxing bars, antique shops and one of the largest daily flea markets in Europe. The nightlife of Brussels may be an insider's tip, but that doesn’t make it any less legendary. Maybe it's the vast selection of beers, maybe the high density of clubs. And when hunger strikes, there’ll be a true Belgian feast of chips, chocolate and waffles waiting for you.

The Atomium, the most significant landmark of Brussels, towers above the roofs of the city. The view from the dome on top of this 102-metre aluminium construction is truly breathtaking. Erected in 1958 on the occasion of the Brussels World's Fair, the Atomium was originally set to be removed again after the event. But instead, it became the most characteristic building in the entire city and a symbol for progress, technology, peace and democracy.

Just around the corner from our design hotel, you will find the European Quarter, the home of the European Union and many of its institutions. On weekdays, interested visitors can enter the European Parliament for free and, with a bit of luck, even observe a session. The European Quarter, with its modern architecture, contrasts sharply with the rest of the city. It is a worthwhile destination even for tourists who are less into politics. Other sights of Brussels include the Mont des Arts, the National Basilica of the Sacred Heart, the Palace of Justice and the famous ‘Manneken Pis’ fountain sculpture.
