My Latest Skincare Story in the Summer Issue of Cosmo for Latinas!

cosmo for latinas summer 2015
As you can see, I kinda OD’d on buying copies…lol

GUYS! I’m SO excited. Like seriously, MAD excited. I wrote this skincare story for Cosmo for Latinas MONTHS ago but it’s now out and I want—no NEED you guys to pick it up and check it out. I was going to pick up EVERY single issue Target had out but then I figured let me at least leave two…lol. But yes, pick it up. Of course I want you to read my story which is all about the latest skincare developments, but the entire issue is really fun. There’s tons of fashion and makeup inspiration, summer beauty tips to get you together for the new season (my girl Milly is the Beauty Editor and I LOVE her “Ask Milly” beauty advice section), and because it wouldn’t be Cosmo without tons of sex and dating articles (um, that 200 calorie sex workout cover story!!!) there’s TONS of sex and dating articles…lol.

This is my third story I’ve written for the magazine (see my 1st and 2nd) and they were the first print magazine to publish one of my stories. I’ve also written several articles for the Cosmo for Latinas website (see here and here), so you KNOW I have a special place in my heart for them. Hope you guys show some love and support by picking up the issue. It’s on newsstands now—Target carries it in the big magazine section by the books (you might not see it at the little stands by the registers)—my Target here has it as well as the one in Acworth, GA near my family’s house so if it’s there it’s gotta be everywhere…lol. And NO, you don’t have to be Latina to read it. Yes, it’s written for Latinas but it has tips and advice we can all use ;)
SUPER DUPER thanks to Corinne who is just the sweetest and most helpful editor.

*****Edited to add because I need to share this:

This is all especially exciting for me because I ALWAYS wanted to write for magazines. After college I interviewed and got pretty far in the process of being an assistant at an entertainment mag (it wasn’t writing but I would at least get my foot in the door). They wound up picking someone else and I was crushed. I wound up working in the financial services industry and then later on quit to run this blog full time which I’ve been doing since November 2010. (See How to Run a Beauty Blog here

That entertainment mag wound up folding unfortunately but can you imagine if they did hire me? Goes to show life has a way of working itself out. Thanks to this blog I wound up at a press event where I got to meet Milly  in person (I’d been a reader of her blog and was SO happy that she was as cool in person as she came off on her blog). Then later she became the Cosmo for Latinas Beauty Editor and now I’ve written THREE articles for the mag. This is one of those full-circle moments Oprah talks about :)
I say all that to say: you might not be doing what you’re passionate about right this minute but this path is preparing you for greatness in your future. You just have to work hard and believe you can. Easier said than done? Maybe. But you’d be surprised at how far a positive attitude will take you.

Thank you for writing this Danielle! Congratulations. This is quite an accomplishment. I will definitely pick up the issue. That being said, I also love your added comments. I am 32 and married with two kids. I have worked in my industry for 13 years and I am miserable. I just landed a good job but I am not sure I am going to like it. I am good at it but unhappy. My dream job is to be a sports journalist. But I don’t know where to begin. But your blog and comments are encouraging. If I can stay positive, persistent and focused, I can find a way to achieve my dream and still take care of my family.

Sorry for the long windedness. But congrats and thank you!
